{"id":4387,"date":"2019-03-28T00:44:02","date_gmt":"2019-03-27T22:44:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/top.cy\/?p=4387"},"modified":"2023-07-18T09:38:16","modified_gmt":"2023-07-18T07:38:16","slug":"cyprus-as-a-film-destination","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/khlawlab.com\/el\/cyprus-as-a-film-destination\/","title":{"rendered":"Cyprus as a Film Destination"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>The Cyprus government has recently announced important tax incentives and other benefits to attract investors in the newly re-launched Cyprus filming industry.<\/h4>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h6>The campaign aims to promote the various advantages Cyprus has to offer in this area:<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>mild weather with more than 300 days of sunshine, enabling film shootings without interruption.<\/li>\n<li>Natural film settings with a variety of sceneries in close proximity, which results in saving valuable time from moving between locations, thus allowing the shooting of many scenes in a short period of time.<\/li>\n<li>Convenient geographical location of Cyprus between Europe, Asia and Africa facilitating filming in neighbouring countries on 3 continents.<\/li>\n<li>English speaking personnel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6>Incentives:<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>Cash rebate up to 35% of eligible expenditure made in Cyprus, with a minimum expenditure of \u20ac200.000 for long films, \u20ac100.000 for tv drama series or self-contained drama films, \u20ac50.000 for documentaries and \u20ac30.000 for other tv programmes.<\/li>\n<li>Tax credit up to 35% of eligible expenditure occurred in Cyprus with minimum expenditure as per cash rebate incentive.<\/li>\n<li>Tax allowance for investment in infrastructure and equipment such as filming studios, audiovisual processing premises, filming equipment, computer generated audiovisual means etc. Maximum allowance for small enterprises is 20% and for middle sized enterprises is 10%.
